Event description

Healthy Land & Water's Water by Design initiative invites industry and government stakeholders to Intermediate Erosion and Sediment Control Training.


Presented by Water by Design and TOPO Group, this training is a comprehensive one-day program tailored for local government planning and compliance officers, site supervisors, foremen, environmental advisors, engineers, and project managers involved in erosion and sediment control (ESC) design, management and regulation. This course is crafted to equip professionals with the essential skills and knowledge needed for effective ESC management.

This is a two-day course. The first day will include presentations and discussions on:

  • Best practice ESC measures for construction sites.
  • Relevant legislation and requirements.
  • Problem soils and management.
  • Construction and maintenance requirements for drainage, erosion and sediment control measures.
  • Sediment basin design and operation.
  • Revegetation techniques.
  • Water quality monitoring.
  • Inspection and auditing requirements.

The second day will include a field trip to look at ESC implemented on active construction sites.
