Gnome Sweet Gnome – Recycling Fabric Waste
Join Sacred Ibis for this fun beginner-friendly class to learn how to use fabric hardening in recycling projects.
- Learn skills that you can then use on other upcycling projects using fabric, string, old lace, doilies, polystyrene, cardboard, wood, metal, terracotta, frames, canvas and more!
- Choose from a 30cm, 48cm or 70cm plywood gnome standing form. (It's recommended that beginners to fabric hardener start with 30cm).
- You are welcome to bring any found or natural objects, textiles or memorabilia that you'd like to try and incorporate.
What to bring: Lunch and or snacks or any special dietary requirement including special milks.
About Ethical Clothing Australia Week 2024
Ethical Clothing Australia Week recognises the people and businesses that make textiles, clothing and footwear (TCF) products in Australia. Currently there are almost 500,000 workers in the TCF industry in Australia, with most employed as garment workers in manufacturing. The only event of its kind in the country, this week-long campaign celebrates the skilled workers within the vibrant TCF industry and highlights accredited manufacturers and brands.
The official program will run from 7-13 October with a calendar of in-person and online events hosted by Ethical Clothing Australia and their community of accredited businesses.
