Event description

Rapid advances in digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) are transforming career development practice and the delivery of guidance services. As AI and other digital tools become increasingly integrated into career counselling and career education, they raise important questions about ethics, trust, and professional responsibility.

This webinar explores what ethical practice means in the digital and AI era, focusing on how career practitioners can critically and confidently engage with emerging technologies while upholding human-centered and values-driven practice. Drawing on international research and professional frameworks, including the IAEVG Ethical Guidelines, the session examines key ethical considerations, including data privacy, transparency, algorithmic bias, and informed consent, in technology-mediated environments.

Participants will gain insights into strengthening their digital competence and ethical awareness as essential dimensions of professional identity and responsibility. Through examples and discussion, we will consider how career professionals can evaluate and use digital and AI-driven tools responsibly, ensure fairness and inclusivity, and apply ethical standards consistently in evolving contexts.
