Description

This course focuses on the legal and ethical responsibilities of social workers. Particular focus will be given to the KY SW Code of Ethical Conduct as outlined in 201 KAR 23:080. Informed consent, privileged communication, abuse reporting will be discussed in the context of practicing in a safe and clinically sound manner.

We are a nonprofit community mental health organization serving central Kentucky. Our mission is to meet the needs of our community by providing comprehensive mental health, substance use, intellectual and developmental disability, and primary care services. We are committed to supporting children, adults, and families, ensuring access to high‑quality care regardless of ability to pay.

New Vista also serves as a training center for emerging professionals, offering internships and residencies for new and developing clinicians. We design and deliver our own training content for employees, and we are certified to offer several state credentials. In addition, we hold multiple board approvals that allow us to provide continuing education units (CEUs) to both internal staff and external partners.
