Event description

This show is a celebration of years of hard work to create Eva Diana’s debut EP, ‘You Don’t Need To Fix It’. With a full band performance of the EP and the incredible support of Lindsey and Billy May, it is not a night you want to miss.

Eva Diana’s EP combines elements of rock, country, and pop to create an independent release that contains honest and personal songwriting from different stages of her life. The songs were recorded with mainly live instrumentation to embed an energetic undertone. Interestingly, the song Pieces was written mostly when Eva was fourteen, but with her limited musical understanding, she couldn’t figure out the chords for it at the time. Eight years later, she was able to finish it for this project. This is emblematic of the whole EP, which walks you through personal roadblocks such as people-pleasing and anxiety, ending with The Contortionist, a song hyper-aware of these issues but hopeful of outgrowing them.

Billy May is a singer-songwriter based in Eora/Sydney who has been compared to Jeff Buckley, Big Thief and Fiona Apple. Having spent the last few years playing guitar for some of Sydney’s finest acts including Maia Toakley, Mannequin Radio and Ned Olive, he decided to embark on a solo music journey. On September 13th Billy launched his EP at the very place it was recorded - The Confectionery, to a sold out audience. He will be spending the rest of the year gigging both solo and with his band, as well as working on and recording new material.

Lindsey is a band from Eora/Sydney forging a new sound in Queer pop-indie-rock. From their debut self-produced album “A Collection of Deceptions”, what was once ‘Abbey Lindsey’ has become ‘Lindsey’- the band, channeling their discoXrockabilly charm into their music. Lindsey has become a force to be reckoned with and are on the move to release their anticipated second album in 2026.
