Adam Cullen was one of the most important Australian artists of his generation. Associated with the Sydney grunge art scene in the 1990s and best known for his bold and challenging paintings, Cullen used satire and social allegory to encapsulate insightful yet confronting views of contemporary existence.

Join us for the opening event of Art is Pain Relief, a survey of Adam Cullen’s career, including 70 rarely seen paintings, works on paper, bronzes, film, and artist books  drawn from private collections to provide insight into this complex and colourful artist.
