Lead Speaker: Tanya Simmonds, The "Hempress" - Founder of HempCentral
- Tanya, a proud resident of Wanaka, is the driving force behind HempCentral. Her processing facility located at Queensberry, with future plans for an education centre, signifies her commitment to advancing the hemp industry locally. HempCentral operates across the entire value chain of the industrial hemp industry, from field to end product. With the introduction of the Ashford Hemp Processor in June 2023, the first of its kind in New Zealand, HempCentral offers eco-friendly and sustainable production solutions to growers in the Central Otago region. Tanya will share insights into the production of hemp hurd for hempcrete buildings and the development of high-purity end products using all parts of the hemp stalk.

- Erica, a new hemp farm grower from Hawea, will discuss the environmental benefits of hemp crops, including soil remediation and more.

Tanya's journey into hemp began from her background in nursing and a search for alternative pain relief. Her interest blossomed into a passion as she discovered the sustainable properties of hemp. Her attendance at the New Zealand Industrial Hemp Summit in 2021 propelled her deeper into the industry. Tanya's commitment to expanding local and international networks underscores her dedication to exploring the applications of this remarkable plant.
