Dear Neighbour,

Did you know that Union and Fallon Streets are identified habitat corridors in the Merri-bek Council Nature Plan? Planting more indigenous plants will help link up the key environmental sites of Royal Park, Moonee Ponds Creek, the Upfield Line and Merri Creek.

Join us for a Fallon Street planting day on Sunday 13 July from 10am – 12 noon. Dress for the weather and bring a hand trowel. We will plant indigenous plants, supplied by Brunswick Communities for Nature, and remove exotic weeds.

Can’t make it but want to be part of a greener Brunswick? Then, ensure your garden and nature strip include indigenous plants to attract native insects, invertebrates, and birds. Avoid planting exotics, especially plants which can become environmental weeds. Creeks, nature strips, drains and other corridors can inadvertently increase the spread of weeds.
