Family Law Pathways Network Tool Talks Webinar: The Court Network - help for self litigants at the Family Courts
Event description
The Court Network: Help for self litigants at the Family Courts
It is common to have clients that are self litigants that are trying to navigate the Family Court system. The Court Network operates in Victoria and Brisbane at the FCFCOA and offer a range of support services, including emotional support, information, and referrals, to help individuals navigate difficult circumstances and find the assistance they require.
Supports include:
- Safety and Well-being: Ensuring you can address  safety needs on your day at court e.g. facilitating access to a safe waiting space and referring you to support workers.
- Referrals: Provide referrals to legal services, FASS (Family Advocacy Support Service), Legal Aid, Family Violence Services, Family Services, Mental Health Services, Financial Counselling, Material Aid, etc.
- Community Engagement: We collaborate with various stakeholders, including the courts, law enforcement, and social services, to create a stronger, more resilient community.
In this webinar, the Court Network will share who who they are, how they can help clients  and how they provide support—both at the Brisbane Family Court and through the state-wide phone service in Queensland.
Get insights into some case studies, referrals options  and develop some connections along the way, followed by an interactive Q&A session.
Presenters: Emily Blomfield (National Program Manager), Jess (Brisbane Program Coordinator), and two dedicated volunteers.
