Family Law Pathways Tool Talks Webinar: What about the pets? Mediating divorce when pets are involved.
Event description
TOOL TALKS WEBINAR:Â What about the pets? Mediating divorce when pets are involved.
This webinar will give you an overview on practical tools and helpful insights for divorce mediators to work confidently, compassionately and effectively with divorcing parties who have pets.
Taught by a dog behaviour expert and mediator, this course is focused on the long term effects of guardianship decisions on the pets themselves. Helping clients understand the “voice of the pet”  is highly relevant for divorce mediators today as pets hold a more central role for many families.Â
By providing guidance and dog/cat focused information to mediators can help the pets of Australia whose owners are going through the divorce process.
Although in Australia, pets are considered ' property', Â we want to help clients focus on the best interests of their pets while avoiding common pitfalls that can lead to fights about pets. This training teaches how to effectively work with pet guardianship decisions which can be emotionally overwhelming and complicated for people given our love and attachment to our animal family members.
