Farm Walk & Talk at Woodland Valley Farm
Event description
Woodland Valley Farm are the recent winners of the Regenerative Agriculture category of Tweed Shire Council’s 2023 Sustainability Awards for their outstanding achievements in natural resource management.
Through changes in grazing management including rotational grazing of chickens and livestock combined with multispecies pasture cropping, Woodland Valley Farm has sequestered 350 tonnes of CO2 equivalents in their soils over the last 2 years. They are now the first farm in the Tweed to have a registered project under the Australian Governments Emissions Reduction Fund.
Local farmers are invited to join us for a walk and talk to discuss a range of activities being undertaken on the farm including riparian fencing and revegetation, winter pasture cropping (not currently observable), dung beetle management and the chicken/cattle rotational system.
