A one-day masterclass tailored for professionals with a foundational understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)

Join me for this hands-on workshop, where you'll gain the essential skills to craft effective plans for individuals at all stages of life, from children to adults. Whether you're in childcare, family services, education, justice, or NDIS, this workshop offers practical insights and tools to better address the needs of those with FASD.

In this workshop, we'll cover:

  • Evidence-based strategies and frameworks for supporting individuals with FASD across the lifespan.
  • Practical interventions and accommodations in education, social interactions, and daily living skills.
  • Collaborative planning with multidisciplinary teams, families, and individuals affected by FASD.
  • Integrating trauma-informed approaches.
  • Managing risk and navigating legal and ethical considerations.
  • Adopting a strength-based approach.
  • Learning from case studies and practical examples.

Participants are encouraged to bring a proforma plan from their agency as a template for class activities.

This workshop is designed for professionals with prior FASD training or existing knowledge. Participants without previous FASD training will receive access to online resources to ensure they are adequately prepared.

About the presenter: Prue Walker is a clinical social worker and FASD specialist who has been presenting on FASD in the NT since 2009. Prue works with care teams to support children, young people and adults with FASD including those with complex challenges. Prue's background includes managing remote child protection services and she brings her knowledge of current developments in FASD to the Territory context. For more information visit https://pruewalkerfasd.com/
