    FEAST MATARIKI MAHIKA KAI WORKSHOPS KI RAKIURA

    Gathering to explore Mahika Kai this Matariki

    Head to Rakiura for a day of Mahika Kai workshops dedicated to wānanga, as we hear from Mahika Kai experts from across the Ngāi Tahu takiwā, served alongside delicious kai on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th July 2023. 

    Venue: Traill Park, Oban

    Session Times - 

    FRIDAY 14th JULY - Workshops $45

    • 10.30am - Nate Smith - How to Process Ika 

    Includes details and a tutorial on how to break down Hapuka from well-respected fisher - Nate Smith of Gravity Fishing. 

    • 2.00pm - Davis Sisters - How to Process Tītī 

    A tutorial from the Mahika Kai experts, on how to process tītī / muttonbirds.

    • 5.30pm - Mahika Kai Dinner - $30 

    SATURDAY 15th JULY - Workshops $45

    • 10.30am - Davis Sisters - How to Process Tītī & Nate Smith - How to Process Ika 

    Includes a tutorial on how to break down Tītī (muttonbird), Hapuka from well-respected fisher - Nate Smith of Gravity Fishing.  


    • 5.30pm - Community Dinner - FREE



    Co-presented by Eat New Zealand and Ngāi Tahu whānau.
