Filmonik Open-Screen Short Films #98
Event description
It will be our 98th Open-Screen / Bring-Your-Own-Film screening and we'd love to show you what we're up to, leading up to our 100th screening.
But it doesn't matter whether it's our 1st, 12th or 98th screening, we've been month after month showing fresh short films on a big screen in Melbourne's CBD. And this year on a rooftop for a renewed experience. It's always so fresh there are often films completed on the same day for the event. You shall expect fun comedies, a bit of drama, maybe some animation (AI stuff these days), there's generally one suspense/thriller, one or two music videos, some fun trash, horror or kinky stuff. The truth is, we don't know in advance but it's always been immediate, spontaneous, crafty, fun, inventive and weird, with urgent, current films. If you're a filmmaker, come screen your latest production. We screen, sight unseen, shorts under 5 minutes*
Door: $10 cash or Card. FILMS UNRATED (18+ by default). Content may offend.
WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 27 at Loop Roof. 3/23 Meyers Place, Melbourne CBD.
Door on the left of the building to the rooftop. Level 3.
Loop Roof is open to the public before 7:30pm.
7:45pm ticketing starts. 8:15pm screening starts
FILMMAKERS: The best practice now is submitting more than 24 hours in advance at http://filmonik.com.au/submit-... or at least announce via email (info@filmonik.com.au) or PM you'll bring a film on a USB drive on the night. Spontaneously submitted short films of any genre and of all filmmaking levels have been creating awesome and balanced screenings for the public. A quick QA with the host follows each film so you, the filmmaker, need to be there in person. Organize your own premiere with us or run a cheeky pre-premiere of your festival film too. Guidelines here: filmonik.com.au/how-to-screen. Filmonik is part of the worldwide Kino movement active in 30+ countries around the world.
