    Better business through knowing your numbers

    Not a numbers person?

    As a Business Owner, Leader or Manager who has some financial responsibility do you:

    • Feel a bit awkward and embarrassed to admit that you are not a numbers person?
    • Lack the confidence to ask questions about the numbers?
    • Dread the Board or your Manager asking you something about the accounts?
    • Usually defer anything to do with accounts until the last minute, or
    • Simply accept what your accountant or bookkeeper tells you?

    Strong financial management is at the heart of any successful business
    You don't need me to tell you that you can't run  a business without having your finger on the pulse with the numbers.

    You don't need to be an accountant to understand accounts

    Understanding your numbers empowers you to make informed decisions leading to better business outcomes. You will minimise the rude shocks and be able to be pro-active in responding to what the numbers are telling you.

    • If you are struggling with understanding or managing the business finances, and
    • This lack of understanding is impacting your confidence in your role, and
    • Impacting your ability to make informed decisions and compromising your business results

    This workshop is for you. Let me help you take the mystery out of the numbers so you can run a better business.

    Finance and Accounting Fundamentals Workshop

    Who is this workshop for?

    For those that have touchpoints with the financial side of the business, are from a non-financial background and think of themselves as "not a numbers person".

    What can I expect?

    This is a very interactive, engaging and fun workshop. A small and intimate group, creating a safe space to ask questions.

    This is accounting literacy training done very differently using the unique Colour Accounting Learning System TM:

    • it's a fun and interactive workshop; it's not a lecture;
    • lots of colourful visual diagrams;
    • using plain english to explain the concepts; and
    • loads of working through examples with a fun hands-on activity.

    Ideal for:

    • Business Owners, Leaders, Managers and Board members who know finance isn’t their strong point; and
    • Feel a little bit vulnerable because they don’t know what all the accounting terms mean; and
    • Don’t know the questions to ask; and are
    • Visual and hands-on learners

    What will I walk away with?

    • More confidence around the numbers side of the business;
    • Understand what accounting concepts and terms mean in plain english;
    • Understand the importance of the balance sheet and how it talks to the profit & loss account; and
    • The knowledge to interpret the story that the numbers are telling you, and ability to ask intuitive questions.

    It was such a revelation to understand how all the various aspects fit together.” Andrew Gregory, Business Consultant and Coach

    "I love learning by doing. It's so refreshing to do a workshop where I didn't have to endlessly take notes , because the focus was learning about systems and concepts rather than content. The BaSIS exercise was terrific"  Nick Maclaine, CircuitWest Inc
