Many of our students face real barriers to accessing course materials. High textbook costs, limited format options for students with disabilities, content that lacks diverse representation, and inflexible resources that can't be adapted for different learning needs. These access challenges prevent students from fully engaging with course materials from day one. 

This 1-hour workshop empowers you to transform your courses into more inclusive learning environments by discovering and integrating high-quality Open Educational Resources (OERs). You'll explore key OER repositories, learn how to interpret open licenses, and practice evaluating resources for relevance and adaptability. Dedicated time will be provided for you to search for materials relevant to your courses, with support available throughout to help guide your search and answer questions. 

Whether you're new to OERs or looking to expand your toolkit, this workshop offers a focused, collegial space to explore how open education can make your teaching more accessible and equitable. 

Through engaging in the activities and content of this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to 

• Confidently navigate major OER repositories 

• Understand the permissions and limitations of open licenses 

• Identify and assess OERs that support your instructional goals
