Event description

Workshop Overview

An inclusive workshop where we'll re-connect with our innate voices and the timeless tradition of simply singing together.   The aim to recharge and relax our (sometimes overstimulated!) brains and nervous system. No prior singing experience required.  Shy singers, shower singers and the simply curious are all welcome! We’ll start with fun warm-ups to befriend our voices, then move onto learning some simple songs and harmonies together by ear.  By singing together and 'finding our voices', we empower ourselves to speak to the issues we face as individuals and across our communities. Let's remember the 'social' in "Social Enterprise"!

About the Facilitator:

Fiona Maria has over 20 years experience as a singer & performer and now works as a Singing Facilitator to foster connections by helping people (re) discover and share their voices. Her primary motivation is to connect people with their innate voices and thereby empower them to speak out & move with confidence. She is a firm advocate of the proven power of singing together to unite people across diverse ages & demographics.  Sing High Sing Low was created in 2018 and membership of SECNA was a natural extension of the people & community first ethos that community singing embodies.

Accessibility:  Accessible to all

What to bring: Water bottle.

Age demographic:  10 years & over.

Notes: People who aren't sure or completely comfortable about sharing their voices in a group are welcome to sit in and listen.  Everything in the session is an invitation.
