Join WiTWA on Thursday 21st October for the launch of our Fireside Chats Series. We will be kicking off strong with Sarah Bassett, Head of WA/SA and ANZ Natural Resources Leader at Amazon Web Services (AWS), sharing her story. With an open forum and permission to get vulnerable, this one is not to be missed! We will find out how such a remarkable Senior Leader in Tech has faced industry challenges, her favourite achievements, hope for the future of tech, favourite books/podcasts and her best/ funniest "oh dear" moments throughout her career.
Sarah is part of the ANZ executive team at Amazon Web Services (AWS), leading the Western Australia and South Australia region and the Resources vertical. Her team works with enterprises across all industries in Perth and Adelaide to help them realise the value of cloud technology from both an economic and business transformation perspective. In order to best serve the market with relevant solutions, Sarah also leads an industry-focused go-to-market strategy for key enterprises in Australia. She is passionate about technology innovation and providing education to enable customers to create a culture of change and modernise their organisations.
Before joining AWS in 2017, Sarah was in the oil & gas industry for 15 years holding various roles within software development, mergers and acquisitions, partner and alliances, marketing and business development. She has a breadth of experience in a wide array of environments with a fortunate track record of partnering with customers to deliver results. Over the years, Sarah has managed teams of varying sizes, both local and geographically dispersed, and with great diversity in education, skills, and experience.
We are by our very own Tina Ambrose, Co-Chair of WiTWA, who has a natural curiosity for what makes people tick, and loves facilitating storytelling.
As WiTWAs mission states, "If you can see her, you can be her", with this event series, we want to inspire young leaders to pursue this path by listening to other women who have been through a similar journey and succeeded. Prepare to feel inspired!!
