Event description

Sally Webster, Director of Florence Saves Clothes
Sally Webster loves bringing people together to learn and share skills for a more sustainable wardrobe.

Many of us love repairing, mending and altering clothes but either don't set aside the time to do it, don't have the machines or the resources, and wish we had someone to share what we're doing with. Well, now you can have it all.

The Florence Saves Clothes - Sewing Social is a new Onehunga Community House workshop that ticks all these boxes. Bring something you want to work on to a friendly, cosy classroom setting (Room 6) full of like-minded people with interesting ideas, while receiving professional guidance.

This is a 2 and a 1/2 hour session running over lunchtime, so there is plenty of time to mend and chat as well as grab a cuppa and something to eat. These social Sunday sessions are a lovely opportunity to make a difference to your wardrobe and the environment. Feedback also shows attendees value the sense of community that meeting new people around a common cause brings.

Sewing machines, needles, shears, some basic threads, a few old clothes to cut and patch with and the odd interesting button provided :)

We welcome up to 12 people to our sewing socials, so don't wait too long to book! Tea and plunger coffee are available to help yourself to in the fabulous kitchen.
