Flynn's Walk - ACT 2024
Event description
Flynn's Walk is back in the ACT in 2024, starting in Commonwealth Place, just opposite Questacon in the park.
We're walking and talking to support veterinary well-being - come for the walk, stay for the conversation.
Veterinarians and other veterinary staff face many challenges in their line of work. We hope to build more compassion and understanding in the wider community and show support for the people who care for our pets. Flynn's Walk provides a platform for the veterinary field to come together to support each other in a relaxed setting.
Our event is FREE to attend and open to all, not just members of the veterinary community - friends, family, young ones and dogs are all welcome!
This year our event is proudly supported by the Petbarn Foundation
Join us in Commonwealth Place, just opposite Questacon in the park. From there, we will set off for a 5km walk around Lake Burley Griffin completing a loop and finishing back at the park.
We follow an accessible walking route that is mostly flat, with some steady ramped walkways and no steps. You can choose to complete all or part of the route.
Our event is being held within the National Triangle, with thanks to the National Capital Authority.
What can you expect on that day?
Arrive from 9.30am, walk begins at 10.30am sharp (with short formalities before)
- FREE coffee, tea and hot chocolate before the walk, thanks to the Petbarn Foundation
- FREE sausage sizzle (with vego + GF options) at the end of the walk
- LOTS of parking available next to Questacon, enter from Parkes Place West (off King Edward Tce)
- If you'd like to support our cause, you can make a donation here
