Enjoy a delicious lunch of foraged delights.
In this 4 hour foraging experience you learn the basics of foraging for edible weeds and some common Australian Bush foods.
Learn how to prepare your foraged ingredients to use in tasty everyday meals.
Taste the harvest with a foraged lunch.
What we do over the day
In this hands-on foraging experience we will cover..
- An introduction to the philosophy and practical basics of foraging
- Learn the health benefits of eating wild food.
- Participate in a foraging walk and learn how to identify seasonal common weeds.
- Safe and sustainable harvesting practice
- Harvest ingredients for lunch
- Learn how to prepare some common weeds to use in the kitchen.
- And enjoy a delicious lunch.
Many foraging classes teach you to identify the plants, but do not show you how to prepare them.
I will show you simple ways to incorporate this abundant source of food into your everyday meals. - Learn when to harvest different parts of the plant for the tastiest results.
- Learn to make foraged seed flour.
- Learn how to safely prepare greens that are high in Oxalates.
- How to store your harvest
And finish up enjoying a foraged lunch that will inspire you to start using weeds and bush food in your own kitchen.
