Event description

On the weekend of January 19-22, we're getting the keys to a 45,000-square-foot school so that we can create the fun and life-changing experiences you have come to count on at The FreakDown.

This is a weekend of surreal nostalgia, delightful mischief, slow dancing, pep rallies, and uncontrollable laughter. This is high school the way you want to remember it.

Unfortunately, this is not a family-friendly event. We will not have any curation for kids' activities and if you decide to bring your children, they will need to be highly monitored throughout the event. If you want to attend and need to bring your kids, please let us know, we don't want this to limit your participation, however, we strongly encourage you to find childcare for the weekend so you can come and play with us!

The weekend includes:

  • Get ready for the first day of back to school with a yearbook photo. A digital yearbook will be sent post-event.
  • 2 provided meals a day (breakfast/dinner)  All the classics from the cafeteria but made with the healthy standards you have acquired as an adult. (more info below).
  • Immersive programming - Homecoming and Prom dance parties, Book fair, bake sale, science fair,  Media Carts,  and much, much more. We don’t want to spoil all of the surprises
  • DJ’s and Live music throughout the weekend - bring those baby-breath corsages and rented tuxedos!
  • Car Camping, tent camping or indoor camping included. We have limited availability for indoor camping. We will be converting 3 classrooms into group sleeping zones. Your 6th-grade self is stoked. Your 30-something self might want to bring earplugs. (Indoor camping is not recommended for those who snore loudly or for those who are incredibly light sleepers)
  • Most workshops and classes are included with ticket purchase. There will be 2-4 classes a day to choose from.
  • Additional classes are available for a small fee to cover the costs of materials.

ARRIVAL INFO:
Doors fly open at 3 PM on Friday, January 19th. We ask that you arrive before 9 PM on Friday. Please contact us if you plan to arrive later on Friday or need Saturday arrival.

Upon arriving, you will be prompted to take your school photo, sign up for classes and get pertinent info on where and when activities will be taking place.

FOOD INFO:
Our Cafetorium will provide:

  • Dinner on Friday
  • Breakfast and dinner on Saturday and Sunday
  • Light breakfast on Monday
  • Baked goods and snacks will be provided at our PTA bake sale daily.

The menu will be a delicious, healthy take on your classic school lunch experience. We will have gluten-free and vegan options available. Please message us if you have any other dietary restrictions or allergies we should be aware of.

SLEEPING/ACCOMMODATIONS:

We have various options for your sleeping needs.

  • Two classrooms, that sleep up to 15 people comfortably
  • A converted library that sleeps up to 30 people comfortably

*These are sleepover vibes! Bring your own bedding!

  • Car camping will be provided in the secluded and flat north parking lot. This lot will be solely dedicated to car camping and will have easy access through the backdoor to the school (and bathrooms).
  • Tent camping is also an option on the grassy field. This is January on the Oregon Coast so this is only a good option if you have an adequate rain fly.

ADDITIONAL:

  • Ample onsite parking included
  • Lots of curated events each day. If you know us, you know we like to go full out.
  • Interactive hangout spaces
  • Onsite showers and bathrooms

*Prior to the event we will release the full schedule so you can plan and pack appropriately.
