FREE Emotional Intelligence Workshop
Description
The Intelligence of Feeling
A full-day emotional intelligence intensive
Emotion shows up everywhere: in our workplaces, our practices, our relationships, and our own inner lives. It shapes our conversations, our conflicts, and our ability to trust the people around us. The Intelligence of Feeling is a full-day workshop that teaches participants how to understand and work with emotion instead of pushing it aside.
The day blends established emotional intelligence research with body-based practice. Participants leave with practical tools they can use right away, in their own lives and with the people they lead, serve, and support.
What we cover:
The four-branch model of emotional intelligence and why it matters in daily life and work
Traumour: recognizing the protective armour we bring into the room
The Feelings Wheel: naming emotions clearly and accurately
The Window of Tolerance: a daily tool for tracking your nervous system
Self-witnessing: learning to notice what you feel and what it costs to ignore it
Mask work: exploring what we protect and practicing safe sharing with a peer
How emotions spread between people and the role leaders and helpers play in that
Using emotional intelligence in conflict, with real scenario practice
Connecting your values to how you actually show up
A simple protocol for moments of overwhelm
Who this is for:
Healers, practitioners, and coaches who hold space for others
Counsellors, bodyworkers, and wellness professionals
Leaders and managers who shape the tone of their teams

Testimonial:
Aurora’s Lateral Kindness training is one of the most thoughtful and impactful professional development experiences I have attended. The session was intentionally designed to build understanding from the ground up, beginning with the realities of trauma and the nervous system before guiding participants into the essential work of self-awareness, regulation, and creating safety for others.
What stood out most was Aurora’s emphasis that supporting others begins with understanding ourselves. The practical grounding techniques, discussions around recognizing our own triggers, and strategies for maintaining healthy boundaries were immediately applicable to both professional and personal relationships. The training reinforced that compassion is most effective when it is paired with presence, consent, and respect for each person’s autonomy.
I also deeply appreciated the integration of cultural competency and the acknowledgement that people experience the world through diverse histories, identities, and ways of knowing. This perspective added meaningful depth and ensured the training was inclusive, respectful, and relevant across communities.
Aurora creates an environment that is both psychologically safe and intellectually engaging. Participants leave not only with practical tools but with a deeper understanding of what it means to witness others with humility, empathy, and accountability.
I would highly recommend Aurora’s Lateral Kindness training to leaders, educators, health professionals, community organizations, and anyone seeking to foster healthier workplaces and stronger relationships. It is a transformative learning experience that equips participants with the confidence and skills to support others while also caring for themselves.
