Hear inspiring stories from an incredible line-up of speakers including Mitos Urgel, travelling from Chiang Mai, Thailand, to discuss the humanitarian crisis on the Thai/Myanmar border and how Fair Trade is making a difference in the lives of women. Mitos will be joined by local speakers for a panel discussion, providing you with the unique opportunity to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of how you can help contribute to the solution.

Mitos has worked for over 25 years to advance the rights, status and dignity of women including the refugees and underprivileged indigenous women and their children in Thai, Myanmar and other part of Asia via education and economic empowerment interventions. In 2012, she founded the WEAVE (Women' s Education for Advancement and Empowerment) Fair Trade Enterprise in Thailand. Mitos is an inspiring and passionate advocate of Fair Trade as a relevant and practical tool to empower artisans and improve livelihoods in marginalised communities.

Carolyn Butler-Madden believes in a world where business is a force for good and brands drive profit through purpose. Kylie Flament Kylie Flament is a social enterprise leader and sustainability expert with a background in managing large teams and projects in the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors. She managed the cardiac department at both children’s hospitals in Sydney before becoming the CEO of Green Connect, a circular economy, fair food and employment social enterprise, for five years. She currently holds multiple positions including CEO of the Social Enterprise Council of NSW & ACT, and an Expert in Residence at the University of Wollongong. Kylie brings valuable knowledge and experience in promoting ethical, sustainable business practices and building strong communities through social enterprise. | Sally Irwin Founder, The Freedom Hub Sally Irwin is a businesswoman with a passion for ending modern slavery. Sally creates opportunities for every Australian to do something to end slavery in Australia and help people who have survived this crime. With over 14 years of experience working with survivors of modern slavery, in Australia and Europe, Sally launched The Freedom Hub in 2014 to specifically work to end slavery in Australia, rehabilitate victims of this crime and partner in the fight to end global slavery. | Nimmity Zappert Chair, Fair Trade Association ANZ Nimmity currently volunteers as the Chair of the Executive Committee of the Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand. Before founding her own enterprises, All of the Good Things and Authentic Selling, Nimmity worked for 25+ years in senior management in the software industry. Working across a broad international landscape, she saw the contrast in her living and travelling circumstances, and those she saw in her travels. Nimmity is passionate about using her business experience for good. Her travels and work experience sparked a passion in the Fair Trade movement. |
