About the authors

David Whish-Wilson was born in Newcastle, NSW, but grew up in Singapore, Victoria and Western Australia. He left Australia aged 18 to live for a decade in Europe, Africa and Asia. David now lives in Fremantle and coordinates the creative writing program at Curtin University.

Dave Warner is an award-winning author, musician and screenwriter who first came
to national prominence with his gold album, Mug’s Game, and his band, Dave Warner’s from the Suburbs. He has been named a Western Australian State Living Treasure and has been inducted into the WAMi Rock ’n’ Roll of Renown.

Karen Herbert is the author of The River Mouth and The Castaways of Harewood Hall (Fremantle Press). Karen spent her childhood in Geraldton on the midwest coast of Australia, before moving to Perth to study at the University of Western Australia. In 2021 she was awarded a residential fellowship at the Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers’ Centre for her then-unpublished manuscript Vertigo.
