FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE CARNAVAL ft Sambin' Tas, Kath and Lea, and Colombian Folk dancer Maria
Event description
FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE, CARNAVAL Sounds and Dances of Latin America Featuring Sambin' Tas, Kath & Lea and Colombian Folk Dancer Maria
Sambin' Tas is a group of Brazilians who carry Brazilian music in their blood, especially samba. Through Brazilian music, we created this friendship connection here in Hobart and we decided to unite our passion for music and unite the Brazilian community, also showing our culture to the locals. The members are from different regions of Brazil and the music was presented to us since childhood. Currently, we make presentations around the city and at Latin parties. And we invite everyone to dance, sing and have fun with us. We carry all the values of our music that crossed from Africa to Brazil hundreds of years ago.
Kath & Lea, This acoustic session of warm and rhythmic sounds from Latin America will have you swinging, dancing and singing along to heartfelt and upbeat tunes!
MARIA ,will be performing 2 different dances from 2 different areas of Colombia. One is called Abozao a festive dance from the Pacific Coast of Colombia and the other is a Bambuco a dance from the Andean Region of Colombia is a delicate dance to be danced in fairs and festivals.
Both dances are warm and represent the joy of 2 different areas of Colombia.
