Innovators must identify the right use case, understand the ecosystem surrounding it, determine which stakeholders benefit, and build a business case that aligns with how healthcare buyers—particularly health plans—evaluate value, evidence, risk, operational fit, and return on investment.

In this interactive session, participants will follow one or more HealthTech examples from innovation to adoption using practical tools such as the Lean Canvas, Business Model Canvas, stakeholder analysis, customer-role mapping, and ecosystem mapping. Together, we will examine how changing the use case or target population can change the buyer, value proposition, evidence requirements, payment pathway, and go-to-market strategy.

Using health plans as the primary commercialization lens, the session will explore questions such as:

What problem is the technology solving, and for whom?
Which use case creates the strongest clinical and economic value?
Who uses the solution, who benefits, who influences adoption, and who controls the budget?
What does a payer need to believe before funding, reimbursing, or piloting the solution?
Where do incentives, workflows, evidence requirements, or implementation constraints create barriers?
Which business and financing model best supports sustainable adoption?

Participants will leave with a repeatable framework for mapping a HealthTech innovation’s path from breakthrough to buyer buy-in—and for identifying where a promising solution’s commercialization strategy still needs to be strengthened.
