Navigate the history of Joshua Tree National Park as it became the internationally famous rock-climbing destination it is today. Learn about the milestones, considerations, and best practices for enjoying the summit and protecting this iconic national resource. The class covers the fundamentals of outdoor climbing equipment but does not include climbing.

This class takes place at Cap Rock Parking Area, in Joshua Tree National Park.
Anyone may attend! No expertise or experience is required.
No park pass is required.
No meals or equipment are provided.
Participants are responsible for their own transportation. Carpooling is encouraged.
Activity level: This class is leisurely. It requires less than 2 miles of walking with shade, seating, consistent terrain, and little to no elevation gain.

Any other pertinent information: This is in collaboration with Climb Smart and other climbing organizations. All proceeds go directly to Joshua Tree National Park!
