The four hour streamlined and interactive course focuses on the essential First Aid skills required for immediate response in home and workplace emergencies. It includes practical, hands-on training in areas such as patient assessment using DRSABCD, the recovery position, CPR, AED use, managing choking, and recognising heart attacks.

The First Aid course being offered is a 4hr Basic course which covers the following:

• Assessment of an unconscious patient 

• How to do CPR

• How to use a Defibrillator 

• How to manage choking

• How to manage bleeding, shock and injuries

• Managing heart attacks, strokes and severe allergic reactions (plus other medical conditions if we have time)

This course is compliant with the New Zealand Resuscitation Council guidelines for First Aid Training in NZ and run by a Registered Instructor. 

Please note: this is not an NZQA course - NZQA courses are required mostly for schools and early childhood education. Please check your workplace’s requirements before booking.

*A retired physician turned emergency-care instructor, Dr Deepa brings decades of medical and Red Cross experience to every class. His sessions are clear, engaging, and occasionally hilarious. Attending his class is like catching a rare concert—popular, fast-filled, and worth every minute. Off duty, he’s rumoured to be landscaping… or building another parking space (don’t ask!!)

Deepa is a highly skilled medical professional with extensive experience in emergency care and resuscitation. Holding an MB ChB (Otago) and CORE Advanced qualification, he has honed his expertise in managing critical situations. As a New Zealand Resuscitation Council instructor, Deepa is passionate about sharing his knowledge and advancing resuscitation practices. His time as a Coronary Care Unit Registrar provided him with in-depth experience in managing complex cardiac emergencies, further solidifying his clinical proficiency.
