Shoalhaven Health and Arts is proud to present Funeral For Jesus as a part of the 2024 Yila Healing Trail
Funeral For Jesus, written and performed by Annette Tesoriero and directed by Regina Heilmann is a creative imagining of a civil funeral service for Jesus of Nazareth, complete with eulogy and exquisite live music from saxophonist and composer Megan Kovalik.
While sitting in a church one afternoon, Annette looked up at the crucifix and pondered what might it have been like for Mariam the mother of Eshua (Jesus) to not have the opportunity to fully lay her son's body to rest.
As an art performance, Funeral For Jesus is a thought provoking event that highlights our contemporary mourning rituals in relation to the nature of faith.
Light refreshment will be served after the performance.
