Gather 'round mycocurious humans! The Fungi are singing songs of inspiration, can you hear them? They want to tell you something, to show you secrets, to be your friends and co-conspirators.
If you wish to heed the mycelial call and explore artistic mycological pathways less trodden this workshop is for you. We all know mushrooms can be good food and medicine, but they yearn to be understood for their aesthetic value as well. Together we will explore some of the many pathways by which we can deepen our relationships with these animate organisms whose wisdom weaves the world we know and love. This includes:
Mushroom Dye Workshop
Introduction to local color-full fungi
How to work with mordants and various fiber types
Dyeing silk bandanas using mushroom-derived pigments
Spore Print Art
Creating art with mushroom spores
Includes a foray into the sand hill forest
Option to incorporate pressed plants (or bring your own!)
Eco-sculpting
