G4W at Wirraminna - Climate Resilient Garden Tour
Event description
NOTE: EVENT POSTPONED
Please note this event has been postponed due to several event clashes that prevented attendance by Wodonga Landcare members, including the Federal election.
Stay tuned - we will reschedule and hope you will be able to join us then.
WULN and G4W invites you to join us at Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre to visit their Climate Resilient Garden.
As climate forecasts predict shifts in our climate, we must consider what this means for our local flora species and land management practices. The expert team at Wirraminna have set out to create a trial plot showcasing what will be best suited to the region’s climate in 2050 and provides the perfect site for our tour.
We will be guided around the site by a Wirraminna team member and the G4W project officer. We will talk about why certain plant species were selected, how they are faring, different planting techniques for success and answer questions that might pop.
This event is focused on engaging and empowering our local Landcare groups, volunteers and leaders. We want to encourage discussion, build knowledge and and inform our planting practices going forward to build resilience into our landscapes into the future. It is also a fantastic opportunity to visit the incredible Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre, see their informative and beautiful ground and enjoy a morning out!
