This special event will bring together our community to celebrate and support the transformative work of Galilee School in empowering young minds and strengthening education in Canberra.

Where: Corinna Ballroom, Canberra Southern Cross Club, Corinna St, Phillip

Why is Galilee School special?

Galilee School changes lives. 

The school is designed specially to provide a supportive environment for disadvantaged young people in Years 7-12, who have struggled in mainstream environments.

At Galilee School, we give students a second chance (or maybe their best chance) for success. We support them to build futures they never thought possible. 

Because we provide so much more than just education...

• Our unique wrap-around care philosophy focuses on developing students’ educational, emotional, social and career needs.

• We aim for a staff-to-student ratio of 1:5.

• Our dedicated Student Support Team provides high-level individual and customised support.

• We don’t charge any mandatory school fees.

• We provide everything they need for success, including food, resources and equipment.

• We transport students to and from school.

• We accompany students and families when they engage with other community services.

• We help our College students find appropriate housing if they need it.

Why the School Needs Your Help

But this life-changing work is expensive – and only possible with the support of the Canberra community.

We’re deeply grateful for the government funding and community donations we receive, but it’s not enough to meet the costs of such specialised education.
