Event description

Experience culture, creativity and connection at Munimba-ja Arts Centre.

Celebrate two powerful exhibitions in one evening. The opening of Bonyi Living Culture and the closing of Blak Camp: New Works in Progress Exhibition invite audiences to engage with artists and their evolving practices. Live music, yarning and cultural exchange create a welcoming atmosphere for all.

Blak Camp is a residency that supports artists in developing new work. Bonyi Living Culture explores deep connections to Country and cultural practice.

The evening begins with a welcome and yarn at 5pm, followed by live music led by Yalinji woman and music mentor Deline Briscoe, with special guests Aunty Dawn Daylight, Keely Eggmolese, Kingston and Merindi. Join the celebration for Aunty Dawn Daylight’s birthday, with cake and a photo booth opportunity.

This is a catered event with drinks available.

Munimba-ja Arts Centre prioritises relational arts practices. Visitors can engage with artists, share stories and witness work in progress. Each event is designed to foster connection, creativity and knowledge-sharing in a culturally safe space.

These exhibitions have been supported by the Australian Government, Creative Australia, Regional Arts Australia, Flying Arts Alliance and Sunshine Coast Council.
