Event description

Join Malinda Flynn (Mal), a Blak Camp artist, for a hands-on lino carving and printmaking workshop at Munimba-ja Arts Centre.

Mal is a Jarrowair South-Sea Islander woman from South-East Queensland with a career spanning over two decades. She began her journey in textile arts at Nungalinya College in the Northern Territory, where she developed a love for fabric design and large-scale print projects. Her practice has since expanded to include string-making, weaving, silversmithing, and digital design, blending cultural traditions with contemporary techniques. Mal creates the most beautiful prints on up-cycled clothing.

In this workshop, Mal will share her knowledge of lino carving and printmaking, guiding you through the design, carving, and printing process. Experiment with papers, calico bags, paints, and printing inks. You are encouraged to bring your own clothing items to up-cycle!
