Gardiner's Creek Reserve Third Planting (In Collaboration With Deakin Enviro Club)
Event description
Let the planting season continue!
Throughout 2023, we will be planting over 3,000 indigenous trees, shrubs, sedges, and grasses that will enhance habitat and improve connectivity for local flora and fauna in the Gardiners Creek Reserve. We want to encourage community members to help care for Gardiners Creek Reserve alongside local community groups like Friends of the Gardiners Creek Reserve and Urban Guerrillas.
This is a community-led project funded through a grant received by the KooyongKoot Alliance from the Suburban Rail Loop Authority Community Projects Fund.
We are also excited to be collaborating with 'The Deakin Enviro Club'! The Deakin Enviro Club provides students with the chance to experience and enjoy our natural world and work towards a sustainable future by networking in a fun and sociable club. We aim to organise and run environmentally friendly activities both on-campus and off-campus and strive to inform members of opportunities to volunteer in the environmental field.
Hope to see you all there!
