Gays by the Rules : A LGBTQIA+ Short Play Exhibition
Description
Many Writers. Many Rules. Many Stories.
From concept to the stage in just weeks, eight writers have created eight original short plays in the continuation of the popular playwriting exhibition from award-winning theatre company Rising Arts Productions.
The twist? Each writer must also devise a rule for the exhibitions 'rulebook': a list of prompts, guidelines and restrictions that MUST ALL feature in each of their plays. The end result is an anthology of short plays that explores and tests the imagination of our writers and audiences alike.
Our June exhibition will be part of Pride Month celebrations and showcase the fantastic LGBTQIA+ writers and performers in the Wollongong area and beyond.
Our writers/plays for this exhibition are:
- Leon Alexander
- Laz Ashcroft
- Bella Grasso
- Aoife Hilton
- Rachel Purcell
- Samantha Sweeting
- Adam Wade
- Tamlyn Wall-Smith
- UOW Theatre Collective
Doors open 7pm.
Please be warned that our plays may contain adult themes and not suitable for all audiences. Exact content warnings will be provided once the plays have been completed.
