Australia's premier speculative fiction awards have joined forces with the leading conference for genre fiction writers; the Aurealis Awards have a new home at GenreCon 2026: Inkling. With a 30 year history, the Aurealis Awards are for writing in the genres of science fiction, fantasy, horror, young adult and children’s fiction.

Join us for a night of celebration as the winners of the Awards are announced. The proceedings will be hosted by award-winning speculative fiction author and GenreCon alum Eugen Bacon.

Attendance is included free with GenreCon ticketholders – book your full GenreCon ticket at www.genrecon.com.au. Drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.

About GenreCon

GenreCon is Australia's largest and leading conference dedicated to writers of genre fiction, held annually in Brisbane.

At GenreCon 2026, we'll talk all things adaptation, illustration, and translation – with a focus on manga and the graphic novel. The conference is headlined by keynote speaker and professional manga artist Professor belne (Kaishi Professional University). Come together to learn and celebrate all things genre fiction across a program of craft and industry panels, conversations, workshops and special events.

The bright spark of an idea. An image brought to life on the page. A story transformed. Full program now announced – see the lineup at www.genrecon.com.au.
