Getting more from Copilot
Description
Your work pays for a Copilot licence. You’re probably using a fraction of it.
Most people with a work Copilot licence use it for one or two things. Finding an email. Maybe a quick summary. This workshop is about the rest.
You’ll need a paid Microsoft 365 Copilot licence (Business or Enterprise). The included Copilot Chat version isn’t enough for the practical exercises. To check, sign in to Microsoft Copilot with your work account. The label under your name should say M365 Copilot (Premium).
What you’ll do
You’re back from two weeks’ leave. There are 150 emails waiting, a budget meeting you missed, and a board report and slide deck due tomorrow. Over three hours you’ll work through it, with Copilot carrying one thread of work across your apps:
Triage the inbox and catch up on what matters
Catch up on the budget meeting from its Teams recap
Tidy and interrogate the budget in Excel
Pull the numbers into a Word report
Turn the report into a PowerPoint deck
Then you’ll look at Copilot agents and see a simple one built live: a helper that answers staff questions like “how do I apply for leave” from your policies and handbook.
Who it’s for
People with a paid Copilot licence through work who can tell there’s more there than they’re reaching. Not for complete beginners, or for people who already use Copilot heavily across every app. No licence yet? You’re welcome to come and watch.
You’ll leave with
A way of spotting where Copilot can take the load in your own working day, plus a prompt sheet to take with you.
Your facilitator
Chelcie Phillips is a Digital Workplace Consultant at First Focus, where she delivers Microsoft 365 training focused on better workplace communication and collaboration. She spends her days helping teams use technology properly, not just switch it on.
What to bring
Your work laptop, signed in to your Copilot licence. We’ll send a few files beforehand. Keep them in Downloads or on your Desktop, not SharePoint.
