Gippsland Teacher Environment Networking Event
Event description
Join us for our third Gippsland teacher network meeting to share ideas and experiences on implementing sustainability initiatives and education with other local teachers.
We will hear from staff and students at two local schools – Maffra Primary School and Gippsland Grammar School about their sustainability programs, including revegetation projects. We will hear abouts the impacts the outdoor environment has on student wellbeing, as well as the role that students play in bringing about positive environmental change.
We will also hear from sustainability education officer for Wellington Shire, Sharon Ray, and Waste education officer for East Gippsland Shire, Tina Bills about how they work with schools to improve sustainability outcomes and how they complement the work ResourceSmart Schools does with schools in their areas.
There will also be an opportunity to tour the Nakunbalook site, including the adjacent community garden.
Tea and coffee and a light morning tea will be served.
Continue to check back for further program updates.
Please note this program is designed specifically for Victorian Schools. You may be eligible for half-day CRT cost coverage, if attending this event.
