    Event description

'Tripods': Electronic music performed with robots.

German music producer and sound artist Moritz Simon Geist will visit Australia in June 2024 to present his algo-kinetic installation work Don't Look At Me at the International Symposium of Electronic Art (ISEA) in Brisbane. In addition, Moritz Simon Geist will come to Sydney for a special one-off performance of his Tripods live music set at the Goethe-Institut.

Based in Dresden, Germany, Moritz Simon Geist studied mechanical engineering and built on his technical skills to create robots that make electronic music, which led to an astonishing international music career and numerous awards. He has worked with artists such as Mouse on Mars, Tyondai Braxton, Robert Lippok and Rosa Barba, and has showcased his work on several hundred occasions, among them prestigious festivals and venues such as the Venice Biennale, South by Southwest Festival and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.

In the words of the New York Times: “It doesn’t get geekier than this.”
