Event description

From the producers of the Academy Award Winning documentary My Octopus Teacher comes a feature documentary about our collective future on Earth.

Conservation Volunteers Australia - #SeaToSource, & The Port Environment Centre are proud to present a screening of Going Circular, the film. Connect with your local community and become inspired to tackle waste head on!

Going Circular dares to imagine a future where humankind not only survives, but flourishes, by rethinking global paradigms and respecting the limits of our planetary resources. Meet four ground-breaking thinkers who navigate environmental, economic and social crises of the modern age. They each discover that the solutions for creating a circular economy and planet have already been perfected in nature itself.

The screening will be followed by Q&A with a panel of experts:

- Oliver Lovat – Senior Adviser in the Circular Economy at Green Industries SA

- Laura Carrington – Teacher & founding member of PECWAG (Port Environment Centre Waste Advisory Group)

Nibbles & drinks provided.

Join us at 6pm to meet local organisations who are spearheading the Circular Economy, including:

- Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, a social enterprise that accepts and resells new and gently used items donated by businesses and the general public, with funds generated going towards their social housing programs &

- ReFAB, a store that provides an opportunity for people to resell their once loved clothes and keep them in circulation. It’s tackling fast fashion from the ground up and is asking people to be conscious about the environmental impact of their clothes.

Film screening starts at 6.20pm.

The Conservation Volunteers Australia #SeaToSource project is supported through funding from the Australian Government.

The Port Environment Centre is seeded by Green Adelaide with additional funding from a City of Port Adelaide Enfield Living Environment Grant.
