Dinner @ Kyiv Social: Everyday Impact ☀️
Event description
Based in Sydney? Keen to meet some great people, while having meaningful conversations and supporting good causes?
Introducing Good Talk – a brand new brunch and dinner club series by Humans For Good. We're a diverse community of Aussies who want to turn their good intentions into impact, and do their part to make the world a better place.
This dinner will be all about everyday impact and hosted by Ron – a member of the Humans For Good community and former veterinarian who shifted into product design, drawn by the possibility of creating impact at scale.
We often hear that “you can’t pour from an empty cup,” and that self-care must come before service. But what if giving itself could refill the cup? What if living selflessly isn’t about self-sacrifice, but about finding freedom from the endless chase of achievement and validation?
This gathering explores selfless living as both philosophy and a daily practice – a way of moving through the world with less ego, fewer expectations, and more care. It’s an invitation to rethink our attachment to outcomes and what “impact” means. It’s not only the grand gestures, the career shifts, or the global causes, but the subtle, everyday choices: how we listen, how we show up, how we give without expecting anything in return.
We’ll explore what it looks like to bring service into ordinary life: at work, in our relationships, and in the smallest of moments. When we act not from striving but from presence, the lines between giving and receiving begin to blur. If you’ve ever felt called to make a difference but wondered how to live that calling day to day, this is a conversation for you – about the quiet revolution of living with more “we” and a little less “I.”
We'll be hosting this in partnership with Kyiv Social by Plate It Forward – a restaurant that provides employment opportunities for newly arrived Ukranian refugees.
What is Good Talk?
We're a different kind of dinner club. Our daytime and evening events are a chance to get to know a small group of other people who want to have a positive social and environmental impact, while directly supporting the work of a local social enterprise.
This looks like –
Good food: Share a meal at a local social enterprise cafe or restaurant that matches your interests and budget (keep an eye out for all upcoming brunches & dinners here)
Good causes: Have candid, authentic conversations about big issues like mental health, while funding employment opportunities and meals for people who need them
Good humans: Connect with new, purpose-driven friends and people to collaborate with, in a casual and relaxed space – versus the classic office or networking environment
What's included in your $20 ticket?
A seat at the table with new connections and meaningful conversation with a small, curated group of good humans in your city
Two meals that are donated to families facing hunger in conflict zones, including Gaza, through the UN World Food Programme
Support for your host from Humans For Good, who makes the event possible and is there to guide the night
A Whatsapp group chat before and after the event to stay connected
Humans For Good operational costs, so that we can sustain these events and have the biggest collective impact possible
What’s not included?
Food and drinks – a set menu is an additional $47.20, which you’ll order and pay for your directly at the venue. This includes entrees (pickles, beetroot borscht and potato dumplings), mains (chicken or eggplant kyiv, green salad, garlic butter mash) and dessert (cherry dumplings). It also covers two additional meals that are donated to people who need them in Australia and Ukraine via Plate It Forward 🇺🇦
Your host for the evening
Hosts are there to create good vibes, facilitate good convos, and answer any of your questions on the night.
This particular Good Talk dinner is hosted by Ron – a member of the Humans For Good community whose career journey has taken him from McKinsey, to Canva, and now into health-tech startups at Heidi, always focused on making meaningful change.
What excites Ron most is exploring the balance between intensity and stillness. Growing up in a culture shaped by hustle and speed, he is keen to explore how selfless living can be a practice in everyday life – finding freedom from the chase for achievement and discovering how giving can also refill the cup. Ron is excited to share insights on moving through the world with presence, care, and less attachment to outcomes, and to reflect on what it means to bring service into ordinary moments.
If you're running late or have any questions before the event, please feel free to shoot Ron a message on 0479 130 152 – or ask it to the Whatsapp group which you'll be added to!

Good Talk guidelines
During the event, please keep in mind that our hosts are not trained facilitators or mental health professionals – but community members who are there to share their learnings, and help to guide interesting and inclusive conversations.
A few other things to take note of and put into practice during the event:
Be a good human: we want the Humans For Good community to be a positive and safe space, where members are free to be their full and best selves. Please always demonstrate empathy and kindness toward other members. Check out our full code of conduct here
Listen and learn: Good Talk events are designed to be an inclusive space for anyone who is interested in doing a little more good in the world, so please make an effort to listen to and learn from those with differing perspectives, viewpoints and backgrounds
Share, don’t sell: we encourage you to share the great things that you’re working on, but do make sure it is educational or adds value in another way, rather than being sales-y or promotional in nature
Pay it forward: there’s so much magic in community, and we can achieve even more when we work together. Let’s keep up the collaborative vibes, and co-create a space for us to all contribute, give back and generally support one another as we work toward our goals
