Event description
ABOUT GRAEME NORRIS
Graeme Norris and The Chermside Three returns to JMI Live on June 8th. The performance will showcase Graeme’s original compositions, present fresh interpretations of classic standards and feature some bop classics. This quartet, now performing consistently as a unit, will explore the repertoire with high levels of communication and interplay.
Graeme Norris returned to Brisbane in August 2020 after a decade in New York City. While in New York Graeme performed at Dizzy’s, Mezzrow, the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, and was a faculty member of Manhattan School of Music. He now teaches saxophone and improvisation at the Jazz Music Institute. His most recent recording “More Please”, reviewed by Eric Meyers in the Australian as “modern jazz, beautifully played”, is released through Gut String Records.
