Green Drinks Topic: Transport - Cycling and Walking

Tairāwhiti Environment Centre in partnership with MyImprint, Exchange Cafe and The Chamber of Commerce, presents Green Drinks.

A monthly networking event where we discuss sustainability topics.

Our mild climate and short commute distances means we are a perfect town for cycling to work or school.

But our lack of safe biking infrastructure is consistently raised as a concern from our community.

So, this month we are hearing from projects who are actively promoting safe cycling options.

First, we will hear from Lyall Evans of Tapuwae Tairāwhiti Trails and Tyler Kirk from Gisborne District Council, who will talk about the Taruheru River Pathway - the proposed cycling, walking and wheeling path that will follow the Taruheru River.
Then, Kauri Forno from Wednesday Challenge will talk about their project, which promotes walking and biking to school and work on Wednesdays.

Entry is free and includes snacks.
