7 October — Reading the Garden
Mauri Badra and Maddie Arnold
Explore how plants, animals, water, sunlight and people work together to create a healthy garden. Observe and map the garden while discovering permaculture principles and simple ways to care for soil, grow food and support nature.

14 October — Geometry, Permaculture Design and Kabi Kabi Dilly Bags
Mauri Badra and Brianna Bond
Explore patterns, shapes, scale and nature-led design before learning about Kabi Kabi dilly bags, seasonal plant knowledge and respectful gathering. Discover how natural fibres are prepared and used to make cordage and woven forms.

21 October — Designing Sustainable Spaces
Elena Moctezuma
Explore how sunlight, rain, airflow, natural materials and human needs influence sustainable design. Get hands-on with cob-building ideas and develop child-safe proposals using organic shapes, rounded forms and natural materials.

28 October — Animals, Habitats and Food Forests
Spencer Hitchen from Save the Glossies, with Maddie Arnold
Discover the animals, insects and other creatures that live in and around the garden. Learn about glossy black-cockatoos, food plants, nesting hollows, water, shelter and the elements needed to create wildlife-friendly habitats.

4 November — Seeds, Soil and Zero-Input Growing
Dr Shane Simonsen
Examine seeds, soil, flowers and plant structures while exploring pollination, adaptation and resilient food-growing systems. Compare seeds, begin germination experiments and discover how understanding flowers opens the door to plant breeding.

11 November — Growing, Preparing and Sharing Food
Maddie Arnold
Harvest fresh seasonal ingredients from the garden and transform them into a simple, nourishing meal. Explore food kilometres, packaging and composting while learning how food can be grown, prepared and shared responsibly.

18 November — Listening to Place
Fin Wegener
Listen closely to the hidden sounds of the garden and creek, from flowing water and rustling leaves to birds, insects and human activity. Learn how to capture these sounds through field recording and create a collaborative garden soundscape.

25 November — Eco-Printing and Natural Dyeing
Lea Ebert
Explore the colours, shapes, patterns and textures of plants gathered responsibly from the garden. Experiment with botanical printing, stamping and natural dyeing to contribute to a shared textile artwork.

2 December — Community Garden Market
Hayley Davis with the whole GREEN SPACE team
Celebrate and present the children’s mural, garden designs, creative work and learning from across the program. Share a community market featuring food and crafts made from or inspired by the garden.
