    Event description

Sydney’s favourite post rock recluses Greyhound are back with new music. Big Farmer, out 14 Feb, is the first taste of the band’s sophomore LP. Taking sonic inspiration from Geoff Barrow’s BEAK, the soundtracks of Ennio Morricone and the early experiments of Kraut pioneers Faust and Neu, Big Farmer is an evolution for Greyhound, moving away from big sky atmospherics and into the mechanical heart of a burning planet.

Hear it live along with tunes from debut LP Dennis Exists and more from the upcoming album on 16 Feb downstairs at Petersham Bowlo.

JuliaWhy? will showcase songs from her upcoming third album, with Kat Harley on guitar (The Laurels, Mezko, No Cake) and Frank Salt on drums (Sportsbra). JuliaWhy? has released two albums independently - Wheel (2015) and Hysteria! (2019) and toured extensively in Australia and Canada, supporting the likes of Tropical Fuck Storm, Waxahatchee, Cosmic Psychos, Hinds, Hatchie and Jade Imagine.

“Unrelenting guitars, pounding drums and walls of feedback all coalesce over the course of their sets, leaving audiences reeling from sonic whiplash. That doesn’t quite sound like a compliment but it is – there aren’t many acts that leave an impression on you like Greyhound…” - Life Without Andy

"For fans of the Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive. Halfway through this MBV-indebted slice of cloud-skipping shoegaze, a surprising one-liner comes out of nowhere and slaps the listener across the face." - The Guardian on JuliaWhy?
