Event description

Join us for a hands on workshop/Permablitz installing a greywater system using a series of recycled baths.

You may have seen this type of bath system in use at Melliodora or Milkwood, who both use a system of 3 baths. Due to the extra space and resources available, Ellen and Michael plan to use 5 or 6 baths in their system including:

  • An initial mulch bed (a natural grease trap and can be converted to a worm farm to process any food particles from the kitchen sink)
  • A series of baths containing baffles, scoria and reeds to slow down and clean the water
  • A final bath for holding the resulting water which may be converted into a pond in future

Setting up a system like this requires quite a bit of manpower, so come in your work clothes with gloves and closed-toe shoes, ready to move some mulch and scoria! If you’re more of a plants person, you may want to help with transplanting reeds into the system once the baths are set up.

Lunch provided.

Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
