Guided Hike at Enterprise South Nature Park

Visit Chattanooga has a fantastic lineup of tours available to WITS attendees. These day tours are only for attendees with a confirmed ticket in their name to WITS 2026.

Join us for a guided hike through Enterprise South Nature Park, a place where history, conservation, and outdoor recreation intersect. Once part of the Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant during World War II, this 2,800-acre landscape was carefully remediated and thoughtfully preserved through a major public conservation effort. Today, the former explosives storage bunkers remain as quiet reminders of the site’s past, now woven into a network of forested trails, wetlands, and scenic overlooks. As we hike, we’ll explore how decades of restoration transformed a restricted industrial site into one of Chattanooga’s most significant green spaces, protecting native plants and wildlife while creating a park designed for low-impact recreation. This walk offers both fresh air and a deeper understanding of how land can be reclaimed, healed, and shared with the community.
