Description

Spring Wildflower Walk at Star Swamp (David Pyke)

Celebrate the arrival of spring with a guided walk through one of the City of Stirling's most treasured bushland reserves.

Join David Pyke and the Friends of Star Swamp Bushland for a relaxed and informative morning exploring the remarkable biodiversity of Star Swamp Reserve. As the season's wildflowers begin to emerge, you'll discover a fascinating array of native plants, wildlife and ecological features while learning about the unique natural values of the reserve.

David has a wealth of knowledge about Star Swamp and its flora, fauna and conservation history. Throughout the walk, participants will:

  • gain insights into the many native species that call the reserve home,

  • learn how to identify seasonal wildflowers, and

  • hear about the important role the reserve plays in protecting local biodiversity.

After the walk, enjoy a complimentary morning tea, including a freshly made tea or coffee of your choice and a sweet treat.

Whether you're a keen nature enthusiast, budding birdwatcher, amateur botanist or simply looking to spend a morning outdoors, this guided walk is a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and learn more about one of Stirling's environmental treasures.

Please wear enclosed shoes, sun protection and bring a water bottle. The walk will follow bush tracks and may include some uneven surfaces.

Meeting place is the carpark near the Henderson Environment Centre on Groat St.
